Shravya Narasimhan
I have been in involved with Special Olympics since I was a freshman at Northville High School. I first joined my high school's Unified Club and quickly became more interested in Special Olympics, and I wanted to get involved outside of my school club as well. I started to volunteer as a coach for the Special Olympics Michigan swim team, and I am currently a member of the state Youth Activation Committee with my partner Miles. I am also raising money and collecting donations of swim equipment for the Special Olympics swim teams to ensure that the swimmers will not have to pay to participate. I am the founder of the Dive Drive organization, which focuses on spreading inclusion, especially in sports with the goal to increase participation to improve health.

I have been in the Special Olympics since I was 8 years old and the first sport I ever did for the Special Olympics was swimming. I learned how to swim through the Special Olympics. Over the years I have participated in almost all sports including swimming, poly hockey, cycling, softball, track and field, basketball, bowling, bocce, and golf. Special Olympics gave me the confidence to join the Plymouth High School swim team. I hope that local Special Olympics and unified schools will be more connected with one another soon. I am currently a member of the Michigan Youth Activation Committee with my partner Shravya. I am also a swimmer for the Special Olympics swim team and swim for at Schoolcraft College.
